Hunter Cunningham is focused on goals – on the soccer field, but more importantly, on a future that will allow him to achieve his dream of caring for the sick. Warner Pacific is his chosen pathway to get there. We asked Hunter to answer a few questions about his experience as a freshman here at WPU – this is what he had to say:

How did you choose your major?

During high school I got sick and was unsure of what was wrong. It was a scary experience for my family and me, but it also sparked a fire for what I wanted to do in life – to be in a profession where I can “be there” to help bring peace and calm to people when dealing with the uncertainties of illness. Nursing is that path for me.

What were you looking for in a college when you chose Warner?

I wanted a small school vibe where I could get to know people easier and that is exactly what I got with Warner. Here on campus, there is a feeling of connection. I know everyone, and I get personal attention from my professors. Everyone wants you to succeed here.

How would you encourage someone who is considering attending WPU?

I am proud to be on the Men’s Soccer Team here at Warner, but whatever you’re into, I just encourage you to get involved. This is a close-knit community and the opportunities to find your people are endless. Everyone is super nice and the education is good while not being intimidating.

Is there anything else you want to include about your journey with WPU?

I have absolutely no regrets. I’m happy with my decision to join Warner Pacific and will be a lifelong Knight.
