The Warner Pacific University Critical Incident Response Team (CIRT) has been closely monitoring local wildfires and air quality reports. At this time, air quality in Portland is listed at “hazardous or very unhealthy” levels by the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality (AirNow.gov). Due to projected air quality remaining at “hazardous” or “very unhealthy” levels, classes on Monday, September 14, will move online.
- Classes for our Traditional and Professional & Graduate Studies (PGS) programs will not meet in-person. Check mywpclasses and your email for instructions about moving class, instruction, and assignments online if they are not already.
- Employees are encouraged to work remotely except for essential employees and services. Please contact your supervisor if you have questions.
- Staff will available via email & phone during their regular office hours.
- The dining hall will be open for food service for brunch from 11:30 am – 1pm and for dinner from 5-6 pm. Tabor Grind will be closed.
- The Library will be open modified hours from 9 am to 5pm.
- The 24-hour computer lab is available.
Current weather reports are predicting rain on Monday and Tuesday and possible winds that will shift the smoke out of the area. The CIRT will continue to evaluate air quality and will notify the community via Omnilert and email if a change in operations is determined beyond Monday.
Health experts suggest staying indoors and advise that N95 masks are best if you need to be outdoors.
