When is the BSN Degree Program application deadline?
For Fall Admission: April 15 and for Spring Admission: October 15

You will be able to access Slate when you hit the Apply Now button.
Can someone evaluate my transcripts?
Yes, you, the applicant can. Please fill out the Pre-BSN Transcript Self-Evaluation Form. This form is to help students know if they are ready to apply for the BSN Degree Program. If the form cannot be completely filled out by the prospective student, the student is not ready to apply for the BSN Degree Program until their courses are completed.

Can I still apply?
Since Nursing is an in-demand profession, we ask that you wait until you complete and have grades posted on your official transcript before applying for the BSN Degree Program.
Can I do a face-to-face interview?
The Division of Nursing would ask a student for an interview if we deem necessary.
Where do I submit my BSN Degree Program application?
On Slate.
What are the start dates?
Currently, we have two: Fall (late August) and Spring (mid-January).
How long is the program?
The BSN Degree Program is four semesters long.
What type of model does the BSN Degree Program do?
Cohort
How big are your cohorts?
We accept up to 32 students in each cohort.
Can I transfer into a Nursing cohort that has already started?
No.
Do you have a simulation lab?
Yes, in lower McGuire, where we have our BSN Degree Program classrooms.
Do I need my CNA license?
No. We do recommend sufficient healthcare experience, volunteering, or other exposure to have seen RNs in real-word action, but a CNA license is not required.

What are the prerequisites for the BSN Degree Program?
- Human Anatomy & Physiology series (not introductory), equivalent to two semesters (within the past seven years)
- 1 course in Microbiology with lab (within the past seven years)
- 1 course in Chemistry with lab (within the past seven years)
- 1 college level Math course (>100 level)
- 1 course in General Psychology
- 1 course in General Sociology
- 1 course in Life-Span Human Development
- Junior standing with an advisor-approved plan to complete general education core requirements not scheduled within the BSN Degree Program.
- Verification through transcript analysis by WPU’s Records Office of a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher on all prerequisite science courses taken within the past seven years. Note: For science courses taken more than once in the past seven years, the Records Office will use the higher GPA of the first two attempts for this calculation.
Can I tour your campus?

Do you have an accelerated BSN Degree Program?
No.
What is Division of Nursing’s Policy Regarding the COVID-19 vaccine?
In according with WP’s Campus Preparedness Plan, OSBN’s standards for Registered Nurses, OHA’s mandates for all healthcare workers, and all clinical partners’ guidelines, COVID-19 vaccination and masking are recommended for admitted Nursing students.
