Gain a better understanding of global leadership at the Global Education Series: a Perspective on Leadership event hosted by Warner Pacific College in partnership with Co-Serve International and featuring visiting educators from  Kazakh-American Free University (KAFU) located in Kazakhstan.

What: Global Education Series: a Perspective on Leadership with a focus on leadership in Kazakhstan

When: Thursday, October 27, from 4:00 – 5:30 pm

Description:  Three visiting educators from Kazakhstan’s Kazakh-American Free University will define leadership through their cultural lens, sharing their definition of leadership and how Kazakhstan’s culture and traditions impact its growth. Following the presentation there will be an opportunity to meet and talk with the KAFU presenters. Refreshments provided.

  • Fatima Iskenderova: Senior Lecturer, Department of Pedagogy and Psychology for KAFU
  • Aizhan Khairullina: Manager, International Department; Teacher of English Language, English Department for KAFU

Where: Warner Pacific College’s Linn Library: 2219 SE 68th Ave., Portland, OR 97215. Free parking is available on SE 68th Ave. or in front of the College’s Egtvedt Hall along SE Division.

The three KAFU representatives are participating in a program by Co-Serve International called the International Educators Academy which helps international universities develop cultures that model the practices of servant leadership. As they visit classes, attend meetings, chapel, and participate in social and student government events on the Warner Pacific Campus and in the Portland area, the KAFU administrators will learn about how the mission and culture of WPC help students discover their purpose in life.
