You are invited to an uplifting afternoon of music by J.S. Bach, Franz Schubert, and Howard Whitaker featuring Dennis Plies playing marimba and Colleen Adent on the piano.
Mr. Plies has been a professor of music at Warner Pacific College for more than 35 years. He has taught aural skills and piano, directed jazz ensembles, and taught a popular humanities course. He has had a lifelong interest in the art of teaching, having written his doctoral dissertation on the pedagogy of jazz improvisation. He performs regularly as a jazz artist.
Ms. Adent is a classically trained, improvisationally minded pianist. She is a freelance musician, with over 35 years experience as a performer, arranger, and teacher and acclaimed as one of the Pacific Northwest’s accomplished pianists.
